I received a wonderful surprise yesterday. Two of my dearest friends gifted me with these early birthday presents: the Dark Fairytale Tarot deck, and a clear quartz pendulum!
I’ve been wanting to get the Dark Fairytale deck for a while but I never expected that I’d receive it as a present! It’s definitely one of the best birthday presents ever! My friends knew I was looking for a pendulum too, and I mentioned either rose quartz or clear quartz, and then they got one for me. They are amazing! ♥
I’ve been keeping these two presents close to me since I received them yesterday, trying to get to know them better. The pendulum is a little chipped and crooked, but I feel like it’s perfect for me because I’m also a little chipped and crooked! Apparently, my friends asked a few pendulums if they would like to come live with me, and this was the only one that said yes. 😉
I haven’t spent enough time with the Dark Fairytale Tarot deck yet, but I love the symbolism of the pictures so much! Look at these; the 9 and 10 of Swords! The original Rider-Waite deck pictures the 9 of Swords as a person with her head in her hands and 9 swords above her bed, this deck has the sleeping woman with the knives pointing towards her.
It has the elements but with so much more story to interpret!
The 10 of Swords usually has the swords stabbing their backs, but this one pictures the swords stabbing her in the front. So much more creepy and interesting! My friends who got it for me said that the pictures were kind of scary, and I’ll agree they’re pretty dark, but oh so beautiful!
More pictures from the Suit of Wands… I really am loving this deck so much and I can’t wait to get to know it better! ♥
Mabon, also known as the Autumn Equinox, is the time for harvest and reaping what you have sown. The Autumn Equinox is also the day when there is equal light and dark. Before this day, the hours of daylight is more than the hours of night, and after this day, the hours of night will be more than the hours of daylight. Mabon has been appropriately called “The Witch’s Thanksgiving”. As it is the time for bountiful harvest, having a feast with friends and family, and giving thanks for the food and company, is the perfect way to celebrate […]

A pendulum can be anything; whether it is a pendant on a necklace or a nail on a piece of string, it can work for you as long as your intentions are clear. To communicate with your pendulum, first make sure that it is motionless, then ask it to show you which direction it will move for “yes” and which direction for “no”. General response of a pendulum (from the Wizards Tarot handbook by Corrine Kenner): Yes – up and down No – back and forth (left and right) Maybe – diagonally from the lower left to the upper […]
